Why is my unlacquered brass fixture staining and discoloring?
Unlacquered brass finishes are notably prone to developing an undesirable appearance or "staining" when exposed to moisture. This susceptibility arises from the absence of a lacquer finish that would otherwise shield it from moisture effects. To counteract staining and extend the time before the natural aging process sets in, we reccomend using Brasso metal polish for cleaning. Unlacquered brass undergoes a darkening process and gradually forms a patina as it matures over time.
Please note that Artos does not offer unlacquered brass products.
